Peter Lion had been inclined towards writing at a very early age. Throughout his growing up years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry as well as wrote numerous short stories. His talent within this field was further perfected when after enrolling in the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he started contributing to the students school newspaper.

He set out to make a career of his passion for the words by first getting a degree in Journalism through the Southern Connecticut State University. He printed his first magazine article inside the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.

He ventured into the television business even before he’d finished his college. A couple of months before graduation, Peter Lion took up a job with WTNH-TV as part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate with the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, had no knowledge of this field grabbed this opportunity to get an entry and also to develop a foothold in the news and tv industry.

He mastered the ropes quickly, understanding the technicalities of the workings of the television network and continued to be a part of the channel for more than a time period of 2 years.

Then he moved to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He worked on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. Nevertheless, his wish to be in television and his passion for writing pulled him back in his home state as part of a small television station start up.

He joined this team as a director and a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, which was to be the first in the state. He grabbed this opportunity of showcasing his talent and knowledge as with his stint in Boston he’s had the capacity of working together with several accomplished directors. He used this understanding to build the show from the beginning.

Peter Lion relocated to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing a couple of years with this start-up. In his stint in this television network, he exploited the various elements of his expertise and worked as a weather anchor, announcer, news producer, feature producer and director. It had been during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled The American St. Nick”.

Then he moved back to Connecticut and was a part of ESPN sports network. Still an integral part of ESPN, he is responsible for a variety of their shows such as Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft as part of his position within the organization as a Director. His main show however, remains, College Gameday.

He has been a two time winner in the Emmy awards, even though he has been nominated frequently for his contribution in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work in Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.

Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently working on his 2nd book. He is also a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is its lead singer as well as guitarist
